What is Metricool? Plan and measure social media
Metricool is a tool for scheduling posts for all your social media channels in one calendar and then measuring what happened. I work with it in a client project where the posts come out of n8n and Metricool publishes them at fixed times. This guide covers what Metricool does, what it costs, how Claude and n8n connect to it, and when another tool is the better fit.
The short version
- One calendar for every channel: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, X, Twitch and Google Business Profile, plus ad accounts (per Metricool).
- The free plan is enough to try it: one brand, 20 published posts a month, 30 days of analytics, without LinkedIn and X. Paid plans start at 16 euros a month billed annually plus VAT (20 dollars for US visitors).
- Claude and n8n connect to it: Metricool runs its own MCP server, which works on the free plan too.
- Depending on the case, another tool fits better. Metricool pays off when several channels, several brands or a hand-over from other systems come together.
Metricool: a free plan that never expires and needs no credit card. Paid plans from 16 euros a month billed annually plus VAT (20 dollars).

What Metricool is, in three terms
- Brand: the container for one business or client. In each brand you connect one profile per network. The free plan has one brand, Starter up to ten, Advanced up to fifty (per the help article).
- Planning: the calendar where you create, schedule and approve posts for all connected networks. Metricool then publishes automatically.
- Analytics: the numbers per network, plus competitors and best times to post. On paid plans also as downloadable reports.

A few facts before it gets concrete:
| Provider | Metricool Software S.L., Madrid (per the terms) |
| Language | Interface, price list and help center in English, German and other languages |
| Plans | Free, Starter, Advanced and Custom; Free never expires and needs no credit card |
| Connections | Its own MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT, Make and n8n (per Metricool); API for Make and Zapier from Advanced |
What a month of social media looks like in the client project
In this project I help run the flows. Posts come out of a fixed process, n8n hands them to Metricool, Metricool publishes. Nobody copies text into a planning tool by hand.
- TriggerPosts are ready
Text, image and date are in place and the post is approved.
- Stepn8n hands over
The workflow creates the post as a scheduled post in the Metricool calendar.
- StepA look at the calendar
The calendar shows what goes out when, and single posts can still be adjusted.
- ResultPublished and measured
Metricool publishes on time. At month end, the analytics show what worked.
The value of the calendar is not the automation alone. It is the one view in which all channels sit side by side. Gaps and duplicates show up at once, before anything goes out.

Connecting Metricool to Claude
Metricool runs its own MCP server, an interface through which Claude can read and operate your Metricool account. According to Metricool it works with every plan, the free one included, and is listed in Claude as an official connector: open the Claude settings, pick Metricool under connectors, sign in, done.
What you can do then, in Metricool's own examples: ask which Reel performed best last month, schedule a post for tomorrow at the best time on three channels, or have a scheduled post shortened without opening the planner. Under the hood there are a good twenty tools, from the list of your brands to the numbers per network to creating and editing scheduled posts.
My advice from the client project: let it read only at first. “Which posts performed best in September?” is a good start. Scheduling and editing come once you know how the account reacts, and on client accounts never without explicit approval. The same MCP server also connects n8n, ChatGPT and Make, per Metricool.
What Metricool costs
The figures come from Metricool's price list and the help article on plans, excluding VAT, as of October 24, 2026. Metricool shows euro prices in Germany and dollar prices in the US; the dollar figures are in brackets.

For a single freelancer with two or three channels, Free is enough to try it and Starter enough to work with. You need Advanced if you look after clients, someone has to approve posts, or other programs connect through the API. You can set up the free plan without a credit card: Try Metricool for free*.
When Metricool, when something else
Depending on the case, another tool fits better. For my own channels I use a different scheduling tool; in the client project Metricool is the right choice because several channels and the hand-over from n8n come together there. How to decide:
- Metricool pays off when you run several channels or several brands, posts are handed over from another system, or you need a month-end report across all channels.
- You don't need it if you have one channel with a handful of posts a month. Then scheduling inside the network itself is enough, and so are its own statistics.
- The flow decides, not the tool. Only once it is clear who approves what and when, and where the posts come from, does it show which tool carries the flow.
