Part 1 got you a finished song. This is everything you can do with it afterwards, from personas and the timeline editor to 12-track stem separation.
Part 1 covered signup, plans and generating a first song. This one goes into everything that happens after a track exists, which is where most of the questions came from.
The editing surface is larger than most people expect. From the three-dot menu on any song you can remix it, cover it, extend it, reuse its styles and lyrics, or change playback speed. A prompt boost expands a thin style description into a detailed one automatically.
Personas are the feature worth understanding. You build one from an existing song, give it an avatar and a description, and it then carries that voice and style into new tracks. Personas are Pro and Premier only.
The song editor is where it becomes a production tool rather than a generator. You see intro, verse and chorus as blocks on a timeline, drag them to rearrange, replace a section you do not like, insert a new section that the model fills in on its own, or extend the track. The original audio is always one click away.
You can upload up to eight minutes of your own material, which opens up remixing your own productions or building a persona from your own voice.
Stems close the loop for anyone working in a DAW: up to 12 separated instrument and vocal tracks, downloadable individually or all at once. It costs 50 credits per run, which is irrelevant on Pro and expensive on free.
| Feature | What it does | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Remix and cover | Create a new version of an existing track, or change its speed | Cover is Pro only |
| Prompt boost | Expands a short style description into a detailed one | All plans |
| Personas | Carry a voice and style from one song into new ones | Pro and Premier |
| Song editor | Rearrange, replace and insert sections on a timeline | Pro and Premier |
| Extend and crop | Make a track longer or shorter without regenerating it | Pro and Premier |
| Uploads | Bring in up to 8 minutes of your own audio | Pro and Premier |
| Stems | Split into up to 12 instrument and vocal tracks, 50 credits per run | Pro and Premier |
A persona captures the voice and style of an existing song so you can carry it into new tracks. You create it from a song you already made, give it an avatar and a description, and then select it when generating. Personas are available on Pro and Premier only.
Yes, and that is the main subject of this video. The song editor shows intro, verse and chorus as blocks on a timeline. You can drag them to rearrange, replace a section, insert a new section that the model fills in, extend the track or crop it. The original audio stays one click away.
From the track menu you choose to get stems, and Suno separates it into up to 12 instrument and vocal tracks. Each run costs 50 credits. You can download them individually or all at once and take them into a DAW.
Yes, up to eight minutes of audio. That lets you remix your own productions, extend them, or build a persona from your own voice instead of starting from a text prompt.
Personas, the song editor, cover versions, stem separation and audio uploads all require Pro or Premier. Remixing and prompt boost work on lower tiers.
If you have never used Suno, yes. Part 1 covers signing up, the difference between the plans and generating your first song. This part assumes a track already exists and focuses on what you do with it.
No manual subtitle track is available for this video. This page therefore uses a checked chapter summary instead of publishing auto-generated captions as a transcript.
Part 2 exists because of the questions that came in after part 1, most of them about the advanced features on the paid plan. Stated plainly at the start: no sponsorship, just a tool worth covering.
Starting from a track made in part 1, the three-dot menu opens the full set of options: remix, edit, cover, extend, reuse styles and lyrics, adjust speed. A double-speed remix is generated and played back on the spot.
Reusing the styles and lyrics of an existing song opens a fuller editing view. A short style description can be expanded automatically with a prompt boost, which returns far more detail than what you typed.
Cover versions and vocal adjustments. Sections you do not like can be cut at a point and continued differently, for example with an interlude before the final chorus, without regenerating the whole track.
Building a persona from an existing song. You pick the source track, name it, optionally have Suno generate an avatar image, and describe the sound or bio. Personas copy voice and style into new songs and are Pro and Premier only.
Using the persona on future generations, plus remastering a track whose final sound is not right. Cropping and section replacement are introduced here as the entry into the editor.
The song editor in full. Intro, verse and chorus appear as blocks on a timeline. Select a clip by its top region, drag it elsewhere to rearrange, or use replace to swap lyrics and melodies in a specific section.
Adding a new section with the plus button above any boundary. The model fills it in without a prompt, in the shown example a build-up before the bridge. Extending the track and editing lyrics work the same way, and the original audio is always recoverable.
Uploading your own audio, up to eight minutes. That opens remixing your own productions or turning your own recording into a persona. Every change can be saved as a new song so the original survives.
Stem separation: up to 12 detected instrument and vocal tracks, 50 credits per run, two versions generated. Downloadable individually or all at once.
Working with the stems: solo the lead, mute the vocals, listen to the percussion on its own, then export into a DAW to finish the track properly.
